11,000 kilometers of roads will be repaired in Kazakhstan this year. According to the Ministry of Transport, priority is being given to routes leading to popular tourist destinations, including the Rakhman Springs, Kenderli, Bayanauyl, Zerenda, and Kolsai, according to “24KZ”.
The construction of the Almaty–Oskemen highway has been completed, reducing travel time by several hours.
Rail transport will also become more convenient for travelers. By July, the modernization of railway stations in cities including Kokshetau, Borovoe, Konaev, and Balkhash will be completed. In addition, around 200 new railcars will be put into service, and extra trains will be launched during the summer season. This will create more than 400,000 additional passenger seats.
Aviation infrastructure is also being developed. New airports are being built in Katon-Karagay, Zaisan, and Kenderli, the Arkalyk airport is being restored, and the Urjar terminal is being modernized. There will be more flights in the summer season. Subsidized routes will provide access to Alakol, Balkhash, Turkestan, Borovoe, and the Caspian Sea coast. A total of 45 flights per week are operated on these routes.
