The main function of the  Aviation Accidents and Incidents investigation Division is to conduct or participate in investigations of aviation accidents and incidents with civil (experimental) aircraft of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with civil aircraft of foreign countries that occurred in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as with aircraft of the Republic of Kazakhstan outside the territory to determine the causes of the event, prevent future aviation accidents and incidents, and to develop recommendations on how to improve the situation.

The State Institution Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan is an authorised body in the field of civil aviation, carrying out regulatory, implementation and control functions, as well as participating in the strategic functions of the Ministry in the field of civil aviation.

Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC is an authorized organization in the field of civil aviation whose main functions are to assist the authorized body in the field of civil aviation in implementation of the basic directions of state policy in the use of airspace and activities of civil and experimental aviation, as well as the implementation of measures to ensure technical aviation control and oversight in the field of flight safety.
