Search and rescue coordination exercises were held in Ust-Kamenogorsk

The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, conducted exercises in Ust-Kamenogorsk on the organization and conduct of search and rescue operations.

The coordination center for search and rescue from Astana, the air traffic service from Ust-Kamenogorsk, the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan from Astana, the search and rescue crew and representatives of the State utility company " Air Division of the Eastern Kazakhstan Region" on duty in the region with a helicopter in Ust-Kamenogorsk, and the emergency rescue team for strengthening the forces and means of the territorial divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the East Kazakhstan region in air and land transport. 

According to the scenario plan of the exercises, the following elements were worked out: emergency notification according to the notification scheme of the forces and means on duty, interested bodies, departments and persons, as well as conducting a search and rescue operation of the crew of an aircraft conditionally in distress at a distance of 55 kilometers from the airfield of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

The exercises conducted by the search and rescue services focused on the development of effective methods for searching and evacuating victims. During the exercises, helicopters and ground forces of the Emergency Situations Ministry of the East Kazakhstan region were used, as well as special signs for transmitting information to helicopter crews. Thanks to coordinated efforts, the search and rescue operation was successfully completed within two hours, despite the weather conditions.

The results of the exercises highlighted the effectiveness of the interaction of all participating forces and means, as well as the need for regular such exercises to maintain a high level of training.

Such exercises are an important element of the national flight search and rescue system, which ensures prompt response to aviation accidents throughout the country.
