24/04/2024

A meeting of the Directors General of Civil Aviation of the European and North Atlantic Bureau of ICAO (EURNAT-DGCA) was held in Toulouse (France). Kazakhstan was represented by Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Saltanat Tompiyeva, General Director of Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC Catalin Radu and Rector of the Academy of Civil Aviation Beken Seydakhmetov.

The meeting discussed topical issues of the development of civil aviation in the region, including personnel training, sustainable development, strengthening coordination and cooperation, gender equality, ratification of international treaties and others.

During the meeting, the Kazakh delegation presented the initiative to create a regional civil aviation organization – the Eurasian Civil Aviation Conference (EACAC). Membership is open to States located in the Eurasian region, including Central Asia, the Caucasus and the border regions.

The EACAC will allow the aviation authorities of the participating States to effectively interact in the exchange of experience, knowledge and best practices in terms of flight safety, aviation security, facilitation and procedures, sustainable development, development of unmanned aerial vehicles, training of aviation personnel, and will also create a platform for discussion and decision-making on problematic issues in preparation for future calls.

Also, during the meeting, in the presence of the Heads of Aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and France, a Memorandum of cooperation was signed between universities of the two countries – the Academy of Civil Aviation and the National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC). The document was signed by the rectors of the two universities, which will become the basis for the implementation of further substantive agreements in the field of personnel training, academic mobility and joint research projects.

Cooperation with the ENAC opens up opportunities for the Civil Aviation Academy to increase the level of education, improve methods and apply modern practices in the educational environment.
