Animals are accepted for carriage with the prior consent of the airline. The consignor shall submit the documents required by the veterinary authorities of the country to, from or through the territory of which the transport takes place.

Conditions for the transportation of animals from airlines are different. In the cabin most carriers allow you to take only a dog or a cat weighing up to 8 kg - PETC. Larger animals are transported in the baggage compartment - AVIH.

Before buying a ticket, clarify the rules for the carriage of animals to the airline, which flight you are going to fly.

For the transport of animals, the passenger provides a container (cage) with air access.

The carriage of animals and in containers (cages) is allowed with a waterproof and coated bottom absorbent material. It is allowed to transport animals in tightly closed baskets, boxes with an air access hole.

The choice of a bag or container depends on where your pet will fly, namely in the cabin of the aircraft or in the luggage compartment.

If you take the animal on board, during takeoff and landing the bag will need to put under the seat in front of the standing chair. Therefore, the bag should be small. Refine your carrier size requirements.

For transport on board, the carrier can be a soft bag or a rigid cage. But it must be designed specifically for the transport of the animal. Such bags and cages are sold in pet stores. You can not take on board pets in ordinary bags.

The cargo compartment must be sufficiently spacious to allow your pet to stand or lie in. There should be holes for ventilation. The bottom should not allow liquid, it should not have wheels. The carrier must be tightly closed to prevent the pet from escaping during the flight.

The weight of accompanied animals, including the weight of containers (cages) and food, is not included in the free baggage allowance and is paid at a tariff.

Guide dogs travelling with a visually impaired passenger are transported free of charge, without a cage, in excess of the free baggage allowance, provided that such dog has a collar and muzzle and is near the owner.
