A plenary meeting of the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems will be held in Kazakhstan

From May 13 to 17, 2024, the Republic of Kazakhstan will host a Plenary meeting of the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking оn Unmanned Systems (JARUS) with the participation of representatives of JARUS members from 65 countries, international organizations and representatives of Central Asia countries in order to promote harmonized rules in the field of unmanned aircraft and introduce experience in joint efforts.

JARUS consists of a group of experts from national aviation authorities around the world developing proposals to regulate the use of unmanned aircraft systems.

JARUS's goal is to develop a common approach to the regulation of unmanned aircraft among committee members, harmonizing its requirements with the needs of industry participants and the international civil aviation organization.

Through Plenary meetings, the organization serves as a platform for the knowledge, experience and best practices exchange in the field of regulation of unmanned aircraft and solving current problems.

The organization's work is aimed at helping each country formulate harmonized requirements, drawing on the joint experience of JARUS member countries.

At the upcoming JARUS Plenary Meeting, proposals for the development of standards to regulate the use of unmanned aircraft systems will be discussed by 4 working groups in the following areas: operation, organization and personnel, airworthiness, safety risk management, autonomous operations.

In July 2023, Kazakhstan became the 66th member of this organization, and the Director General of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC from the Republic of Kazakhstan was elected to the post of Vice-Chair of the JARUS Asia/Australasia region.
